There is something special about working with inkbottles and fountainpen. Ralph Steadman is a true master but I’m starting to find my own style and often incorparate some washed out gouachepaint in my work. Pretty much all my inkwork is done on 200g size A3 aquarellepaper.
There is something dramatic and risky at play when you work with ink. It’s impossible to wipe away or cover up once it hits the paper and it’s even harder to control. But when it all goes well, you end up with something wild with unplanned areas of splats and drips.
“I get my best ideas in a thunderstorm. I have the power and majesty of nature on my side”. –Ralph Steadman
