Just because a building is shut down, closed up or stops serving its initial purpose it doesn’t mean it stops evolving. There are few things I find more beautiful than places which have been abandoned for some time. Nature starts taking its course when the cracks open up, vandals, junkies and kids start leaving their marks in and outside the building, everything, shuts down but springs to life in a new unexpected way. These photos were taken during a trip to Helsingør (Denmark), a trip where I visited four abandoned places. My favourite photos came from of a house where somebody used to live, and from a bowling alley which has seen everything from parties, to vandalism and a structure fire. This time I didn’t have any portable light with me but I’ll make sure to bring it next time I go back.
